BBC: For the second consecutive weekend, thousands have taken to the streets in London, and smaller protests have also occurred in Birmingham, Cardiff, and Salford, to demonstrate in favor of Palestine. The Metropolitan Police estimated that up to 100,000 people participated in the London march, which concluded near Downing Street. The protests come after the first aid deliveries reached Gaza, which has been under an Israeli blockade following a Hamas attack that killed 1,400 people in Israel earlier this month. Meanwhile, Palestinian officials report over 4,000 people have died due to Israeli bombings. The demonstrations were organized by multiple groups demanding an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Police presence was substantial with more than 1,000 officers at the London event. UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly warned that the conflict risks destabilizing the Middle East and has been working on diplomatic efforts to mitigate the crisis. At the protest, a slogan calling for Palestinian control of all land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, including Israel, was chanted, which Home Secretary Suella Braverman interprets as a call for the destruction of Israel. The Community Security Trust is also aware of plans for a smaller protest in Golders Green, an area with a large Jewish population, and is urging people to maintain personal security.
