CNN: In the past week, significant developments have occurred in Ukraine, boosting its counteroffensive against Russia. A confidential delivery of U.S. ATACMS missiles has targeted Russian positions in Berdiansk and Luhansk, bolstering both Ukrainian military capabilities and morale. While the timing and decision-making behind the supply remain unclear, analysts predict it will force Russia to alter its military strategies. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky celebrated the move as a strong show of U.S. support.

Fierce clashes continue in eastern Ukraine, particularly in the embattled city of Avdiivka, where Ukrainians claim to have inflicted heavy casualties on Russian forces. CNN cannot independently verify Ukrainian claims of Russian losses but video shared by unofficial Ukrainian military accounts show intense fighting and destroyed hardware. Analysts note that Russia aims to encircle the city to control key supply routes.

In a recent development, Ukrainian forces have carried out a cross-river operation into the Russian-occupied Kherson region. Official details are scarce, but Ukrainian troops seem to be establishing a foothold on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River.

Ukraine is also attacking on the religious front. In a legislative move, the Ukrainian parliament has approved the initial reading of a bill aimed at eliminating Russian influence in religious organizations within Ukraine. The draft has drawn criticism from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which is seen as an extension of the Russian Orthodox Church.
