BBC: The United States is easing sanctions on Venezuela in response to an agreement between the Venezuelan government and opposition. The deal involves international observers monitoring the next year’s election in Venezuela. As a result, sanctions on Venezuela’s oil, gas, and gold sectors will be relaxed. The US has issued a general license allowing Venezuela to produce and export oil for the next six months. The US has also urged Venezuela to establish a specific timeline for the reinstatement of all candidates by the end of November. This move marks a shift in US policy towards Venezuela under President Joe Biden, aiming to address the economic crisis and promote democratic processes in the country, which has been marred by political turmoil and mass emigration.
