Hamas forces were preparing to attack Israel at least six sites across Gaza. Two sites were just over a kilometer from the border with Israel. The others were in central Gaza and three others were in the south of the Strip, according to video clips and satellite images analyzed. One of the videos shows insurgents practicing takeoffs, landings and attacks using paraplanes. According to metadata, the video was filmed more than a year ago. The video shows that Hamas’ own drones were being tested at the same location where the paragliders were conducting practice takeoffs. The group’s forces are seen in the video exercising their weapons. They created mock-ups of Israeli buildings and streets and practiced on them variously brandishing them. Satellite images show that the camp was built over the past year and a half. The three training camps had mock-ups of Israeli tanks. Israel Defense Forces spokesman Jonathan Conricus said that Hamas “had many training sites” and the Israeli military “has hit many training sites over the years in various rounds of escalation.” Conricus also said that Hamas may have given the sites a “civilian appearance.” However, all of the sites have no signs of civilian life. They are all surrounded by massive earthen ramparts that are taller than the buildings in the camps. Almost all of the roofless buildings are constructed of cinder blocks and cement
